Welcome to the Molecular Simulations Laboratory. As the head of this group, I have the privilege of working alongside a team of passionate and talented graduate students who share a deep curiosity for science. Over the years, more than 20 students have completed their Ph.D. here, forming a strong alumni network that continues to contribute to both academia and industry worldwide. What drives us is simple yet powerful—curiosity. We focus on basic scientific research, exploring fundamental questions at the intersection of chemistry, physics, and materials science. While much of our work is curiosity-driven, we are equally motivated by the potential impact our research can have on the broader scientific community.

You can join the Molecular Simulations Laboratory in a variety of ways. Students with a Bachelors degree in any branch of Engineering or a Masters degree in Physics/Chemistry can apply for JNCASR's M.S. (Engg.) and/or Ph. D. programmes. We admit students twice a year. Advertisements usually appear in March/April and also in October. Criteria to be called for Interviews: INSPIRE, GATE, CSIR-UGC-NET, JEST etc. You need to have a very good All India Rank in any/all of these. Choose "CPMU" (my Unit, Chemistry and Physics of Materials Unit) in the application form.

We also encourage talented and smart individuals with exceptional skills in Python programming/Machine Learning/Numerical Programming to write to us for short-term internships.
